Distorted mental models lead to erroneous decision-making. Not only does a conflict of interest lie at the heart of every domestic, international, or corporate conflict, but also there is a conflict between the mental models guiding the parties in their perceptions, decisions, and actions. Mental models reflect how the parties view the conflict. Mental models are based on the parties’ attitudes, beliefs, stereotypes, formal education, and personal experience.
One example is our study of Russian top-level political and military experts and advisors to the government after the 2008 conflict in South Ossetia. Profiling the mental models of the conflict in the form of a map allowed parties to grasp not only the structure of perceptions and attitudes about the conflict, but also to reveal the presence of distortions and the hidden substructures in mental models not articulated by the parties. The presence and identity of a third party was thus disclosed.
Identifying and analyzing the mental models, for the client, of all parties, including the decision-makers and their advisors, helps not only to get the full picture of the parties’ visions of the conflict, but also to predict their behavior in a similar conflict in the future. We have developed exclusive techniques for the assessment and the analysis of the mental models.
The fundamental flaw in policy planning (foreign, business, or military) is the unfamiliarity of the host or partner nation psychology: its people’s mentality, culture, history, and traditions.
Each country has a distinctive mentality defining the behavior of its people at the national level (public masses’ acceptance, rejection, support, or denial). The knowledge we provide of the “psychological code” of the nation is advantageous to our clients and will prove an effective tool in the assessment and prediction of the people’s behavior and reactions to the planned operations, including business, political, military, and even humanitarian aid.
We provide a unique methodology to analyze and assess the “psychological code” of the nation, to locate the vital actors, to identify the crucial trends and characteristics relevant to the nation’s psychology and to the effectiveness the client’s policy.
The personality of a political leader, politician, a chief executive officer, or a departmental chair, has a complex structure with interacting elements creating a unique behavioral pattern. Revealing the structure allows our clients to see the personality’s motivation, belief system, decision-making style, risk management, reactions in stressful situations, specifically negotiations, and to predict a leader’s behavior in both, routine and crisis situations.
We provide a unique methodology and the technology to create a personality profile, both psychological and political, to forecast the behavior, assess key psychological traits and characteristics, and offer recommendations on strategic communication and cooperation for both political and corporate clients since 1983.
Custom client psychological profiles have been created for the following individuals, among others: Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, John McCain, Barack Obama, Alexander Haig, Caspar Weinberger, George Shultz, James Baker III, David Cameron, Gordon Brown Michael Dukakis, Dmitry Medvedev, Vladimir Putin, Viktor Yanukovych, Alexander Lukashenko, and Bashar al-Assad.
